The Moray Firth coastline boasts some of the cleanest, unspoiled beaches in the UK. Dotted with picturesque towns and villages all within easy driving distance of the Old Mill at Brodie, here are just a few well worth a visit: Nairn - Findhorn - Buckie - Lossiemouth - Portsoy

The Moray Firth Wildlife Centre gives information not only on the dolphins common in the area but also the other wildlife seen regularly including Grey and Common seals, Osprey Otters and a host of wildfowl and wading birds. Horse riders click here  for a list of regional riding centers. Coming inland we'd recommend a visit to Baxters at Fochabers famous soup makers for generations and Johnson's of Elgin the cashmere visitor center. There's also Christies Garden Center, Elgin Cathedral and Plusgarten Abbey. In the area there's also Go Carting, Paint Balling, Mountain Bike hire and many other activities. Coming eastwards towards Nairn there's the Culbin Forest, Cawdor Castle, Fort George and Culloden Moor famous battle site of the Jacobite and Hanoverian armies in 1746. Throughout the summer many towns and villages host special events such as the Portsoy Boat Festival, Forres Gala Theme Day, Brodie Castle Vintage Car Rally, Nairn Open Street Market, Burgie Horse Trials and of course The Highland Games - see our Games page. All this and more amidst the beautiful scenery of the Highlands and Grampians has earned the Moray Firth the title of "Scotland's Best Kept Secret".

A thirty minute drive from the Old Mill at Brodie takes you to the magnificent Cairngorm mountains and the vast amount of activities and attractions this area offers. Summer or winter, autumn or spring, Badenoch and Strathspey and the slopes of Cairngorm draw appreciative visitors. From soaking up the sun on the shores of Loch Morlich in August to sweeping down snow-covered ski slopes in January, the area of  Aviemore and Cairngorm offer unrivalled outdoor attractions whatever the time of year. Rothiemurchus Estate offers a huge range of activities from 'throwing your own' at Loch an Eilein Pottery, or perhaps visiting Inshriach Nursery where you will find many rare heathers and Alpine plants for sale. Other local attractions include the Fun House at Coylumbridge - an indoor facility for children of all ages featuring Adventure Mini Golf, 10-pin Bowling, Cyril's Tree House, and themed cafes and restaurants. Today over 50% of the estate lies within the Cairngorm National Nature Reserve and the numerous attractions include a working fish farm, craft shop, farm shop, guided walks, wildlife safaris and clay pigeon shooting. The estate also includes picturesque Loch an Eilein with its much-photographed ruined castle and informative visitor centre. At the beautiful Glenmore Forest Park is the national outdoor training centre.
